Today, in science class, we discussed lift, drag, thrust and air pressure. Specifically, we discussed how these factors affect the flying creatures in God's creation.
To demonstrate how air pressure works on lifting a bird into flight, we used this experiment. 1. Fill a cup to the top with water.
2. Cut a straw in two. One section of the straw needs to be just slightly higher than the cup.
3. Use the other section of straw to blow air over the top of the other straw without blowing on the water in the cup.
4. When you blow on the straw just right, water will come squirting out of the straw.
